Sleekbook : HP Flagship to Compete iPad


2011 years ago, Hewlett Packard (HP) had intended to sell their personal computer (PC) division. This because the division's performance continues to decline eroded of  the trend of tablet. However, HP eventually cancel to sold their PC division.

Now, the division that responsible for HP desktop and laptop products to become their mainstay the compete the tablet dominance that lead by Apple with iPad and Samsung with Galaxy Tab.


This was disclosed by Dion Weisler, Senior Vice President, Printing and Personal Systems Group, HP Asia-Pacific in break-out session event HP Global Influencers 2012 that was held in Shanghai, China, on Wednesday (05/09/2012).

Dion said, Ultrabook will be able to answer the needs of users who want another product that is as flexible as tablet. Ultrabook has almost everything in tablet, which is thinner, lighter, and the battery can last for long time, and the main thing is it can be turned on / used instantly.

Media Center is not included in Windows 8


Unlike the previous operating system, Media Center is not included in Windows 8, Microsoft officially announced that Windows 8 will not be bundled with Media Center. This means that users of Windows 8 will not be able to play DVDs without buying additional software.



In Microsoft's official blog about Windows 8, Microsoft team said that globally, DVD sales have dropped significantly from year to year. On the other hand, the team said, Microsoft needs to pay significant royalties to be able to play DVDs.

That's why Microsoft chose to separate the software for playback of traditional media, optical media (DVDs) and broadcast television. The software will be optimized for the Windows team 8 is an online multimedia.

Microsoft and Intel work together to compete Apple

Currently Intel and Microsoft are working together to produce Windows 8 touch-based tablet that based on Ultrabook platform. ODM (Original Design Manufacture) from Taiwan claim Intel-Micosoft duet aims to reduce iPad market share from 70% to 50% in mid 2013. What weapons are prepared by Intel-Microsoft? Of course, Microsoft's most advanced operating system, Windows 8.


As quoted from TomsHardware, Intel-Microsoft products are Hybrid Ultrabook that ever been showed in IDF (Intel Developer Forum) event and will compete Apple on two market, tablet market and ultrabook market.

In one day Windows 8 Preview reached 1 million downloads

Within 24 hours after the release of Windows 8, Consumer Preview has been downloaded 1 million times. Of course this is a good news for Microsoft, to know their newest operating system is welcome.

Through Microsoft's official Twitter account, Windows 8 development team released the news through a simple tweet on Thursday. "One day later ... one million downloads of the preview consumer," they wrote.

Windows Store is now open

Be prepared !!! One of the main features of the promised will really exist in Windows 8. In order to compete with Apple's App Store, Microsoft has developed Windows Store to support all the software for Windows users. As has been reflected in its name, Windows Store will serve as an online store for Windows users who want to download or buy the application directly from the their own Windows 8 computer.



Windows Store will be optimized in
Windows 8's metro style and touch-screen display. Because it is still beta, of course, Windows Store will need a lot of improvement, especially if they want to compete with the giant Apple's App Store.
