Check Google Mail Statistics using Google Meter

Busyness sometime makes a person does not realize that many emails were ignored. Countless emails that are not read and not replied. However, now all can be known with an application that helps users to know email statistics. GMail Meter Apps is application that is made by Romain Script Vialard, top contributor to Google Apps Script.

The concept is similar to an application Google Account Activity service that provides statistics about the use of Google Account. The difference is, Google Account Activity is used by Google account owner, whereas GMail Meter is more specific to Gmail users.

How to install it easily. Here are the steps:
  1. Go to Google Docs from Gmail account and create a new spreadsheet.
  2. Click on the word Tools and select Script Gallery.
  3. Type "Gmail Meter" in a search engine and click Install.
  4. Gmail Meter will appear on that new spreadsheet.
  5. Click on Gmail Meter to Get a Report. You can choose  type of report. Standard reports can be sent every month, or you can arrange to have it sent every two weeks or two months, depending on your option.
  6. When finished set up, email statistics will be sent via email.

Statistical email sent by Google will contain the following matters:

Volume statistics
These statistics will show the number of important emails, the amount of email sent and the amount of incoming email. These statistics are useful to know your activities for a month in Gmail.




Daily traffic
These statistics will show the difference between received email and sent email. From this graphic data, you can read how many email you send and receive.




Traffic pattern
These statistics will show the progress number of emails sent and received every week.





Email categories
These statistics will separate the categories contained in inbox from In labels email, Archived email and deleted email.


Time before first response
These statistics will show how much time you need to reply an email. From these statistics you will find out if you are a procrastinate when reply email, or a person who directly reply to email you received.



Word count
These statistics will provide data about the amount of words of email you receieved and sent.



Thread lenghts
This statistic shows the history of your conversation in GMail.
