Microsoft Interested to Buy RIM Shares

Once rumored to be purchased by Samsung, Research In Motion (RIM) re-enliven the stock market news. The latest information says, Microsoft is also interested in buying RIM shares.  Quoted from Cellular-news, on Thursday (4/12/2012), RIM said the company is currently exploring strategic alternatives as part of changes under the leadership of new CEO.



No doubt, this statement raises more speculation to RIM stock purchase by Microsoft. Some analysts even said that this is first indication that leads to the possibility of RIM to join with another giant company. The financial website Benzinga, estimate investment being poured by Microsoft could be in the range of USD 3.5 billion. Until now, both RIM and Microsoft declined to comment.

RIM does have interesting patent portfolio to attract Microsoft. Moreover, Microsoft is currently known to aggressively strengthen their patent to compete Google and Facebook.
