Microsoft is revamping their search engine system. Microsoft will reform Bing in order to capture content from social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and others. Bing step of course in contrast with Google that since the beginning of 2012 decided to stop to capture social networking content.
In demonstration that conducted by Microsoft on Thursday (5/10/2012), search activity at Bing will be divided into three columns, Core Web Results, Snapshot, and Sidebar. This three column is scheduled to be released in late May 2012.
On the left side, there is Core Results Web. This will show several website according to keywords. There is no difference with previous Bing search. Since this is main search engine, then it is greatest portion in search results than others.
In middle there is Snapshot, provide additional useful information according to keywords entered. For example, when a user looking for seafood restaurants in town, then it comes out in Snapshot column includes maps, reviews, ratings, etc. about sea food restaurants in a city.
On the right side, there is Sidebar. This column will presents content of social networking site. Bing able to search the contents of Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Quora, LinkedIn, Google + and Blogger.
Well, this Sidebar column feature of course will be Bing advantage to Google. Since January 2012, Google decided to stop finding social networking content and just prioritize their own social network, Google +.
Social networking sites was disappointed with Google's decision. Because, Google search update that entitled "Search, plus Your World" (SPYW) on the right side of the screen will give you some relevant links from Google +. Unfortunately, Google does not show links from other social networks.
Google decision is not fair for other social media like Facebook, Twitter and Myspace. A lot of people warned Google to be more focus on what the users are looking, rather than promote their own products.
