Some time ago, there is a news said that hacker group Anonymous has developed and released their own desktop operating system with the name Anonymous OS. Anonymous OS is a Linux distro based operating system Ubuntu 11.10 that supposedly developed by the hacker group Anonymous. Recently it is proved that the Anonymous OS is fake and has nothing to do with hacker group Anonymous.
As quoted from TomsHardware, a report about this operating system is started from a Tumblr account belonging to Anonymous OS operating system. On the page "About" of the blog states that Anonymous OS is created for web security educational purposes.
It also means a warning to users not to use Anonymous OS to attack web site.
But based on account Twitter that is believed belong to hacker group Anonymous said that the Anonymous OS is fake and there is no relation to hacker group Anonymous.
Twitter account @anonops also mentioned that Anonymous OS that size of 1.4 GB has been seized with dangerous malwares and trojans. Responding to this news, the people behind Anonymous OS immediately update their blog on Tumblr. Through Twitter account @anonops said
"That Anonymous-OS is wrapped in trojans. Please people ... in our world, in Linux and open source world, there is not virus. If any user believe That Anonymous-OS is wrapped in trojans or backdoored OS by any Company or Law enforcement Hacker please do not download it! But do not mislead the world That Linux is dangerous and has trojans!. "
BGR said that Anonymous OS has been downloaded 25,000 times.
